The Cleveland Guardians have their ALDS opponent.
After defeating the Houston Astros in the Wild Card round of the MLB playoffs, the Detroit Tigers will move on to the ALDS where they'll face first-year manager Stephen Vogt's Guardians.
The Guardians won the regular-season matchup against Detroit in 2024, albeit barely.
Cleveland went 7-6 against the Tigers throughout the 2024 season, so the best-of-five ALDS between these two teams should be an even matchup.
When is ALDS Game 1 between the Guardians and Tigers? What channel is the game on?
The Guardians will play their first postseason game of 2024 on Saturday, Oct. 5.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:08 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on TBS and streamed on Max.
2024 ALDS schedule between Guardians and Tigers
After these two teams play Game 1 on Saturday, here's the schedule for the rest of the series (TV station in parenthesis):

What is the ALDS home/away format?
The best-of-five ALDS will have a 2-2-1 home/away format. MLB has followed this format since 1998.
The first two games of the series will be at home for Cleveland at Progressive Field. Games 3 and 4 (if necessary) will be played in Detroit.
A series-deciding Game 5 would be played back on the Guardians' home field if the teams split the first four games of the series.
