The Milwaukee Bucks made a decision on the future of MarJon Beauchamp on Thursday
The Milwaukee Bucks declined to exercise MarJon Beauchamp’s option for the 2025-26 season Thursday, according to a league source.
If the Bucks had picked up the option, the 24-year-old would have made $4.7 million for his fourth year, a raise of $2 million from this season. Thursday was the deadline to make a decision.
The No. 24 pick in the 2022 draft, the 6-foot-6 guard out of Yakima, Washington, has yet to find a foothold with the organization under three head coaches in three years. Under Mike Budenholzer in his rookie year in 2022-23, Beauchamp appeared in 52 games (11 starts) and played 13.5 minutes per game.
Much of that playing time came as that team faced injuries to veterans ahead of him on the roster, and he appeared in 32 of those games by Jan. 14. Beauchamp scored a career-high 20 points on Nov. 14, 2022 against Atlanta.

Under Adrian Griffin and Doc Rivers in 2022-23, Beauchamp significantly improved his three-point shooting in making 40% of his attempts, up from 33.1% as a rookie. He played in 48 games but 33 were logged by Jan. 11 under Griffin. Once Rivers was hired in late January, Beauchamp played in just 13 games as he managed some injuries as well.
Heading into Thursday night’s game against Memphis, Beauchamp has played in every game, but as a late-game sub.
By declining the option, the Bucks now have contractual control over seven players for next season. Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis and Pat Connaughton have player options.
