Mike Vrabel, Tennessee Titans to meet to determine if 'notable changes' must be made | Report

Top Tennessee Titans brass, including coach Mike Vrabel, are expected to meet this week to determine the future direction of the franchise and whether "any notable changes" need to be made, per a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

In his report, Schefter says the Titans' situation is "currently not settled." He says these meetings will be held to "determine whether any notable changes need to be made" and reports that there are "people around the league" who believe that Vrabel is willing to be traded to another team or that the Titans would be willing to trade Vrabel.

The Titans (5-11) host the Jacksonville Jaguars (9-7) on Sunday for their final game of this season. After leading the Titans to three playoff berths and two division titles in his first four seasons, Vrabel hasn't been able to replicate that success over the past two years. The Titans have lost 18 of their last 23 games dating back to 2022 as injuries have mounted, offensive line mistakes have persisted, the once-dominant running game has grown inefficient and the defense has struggled to create turnovers and make game-changing stops.

What Mike Vrabel said about Titans rumors and coaching speculation

Speaking with media on Wednesday, Vrabel expressed that he wants to remain with the Titans.

"Of course I want to be here," Vrabel said. "I want to be here as long as we can win and as long as we can do this thing. It’s been great. But it’s also been frustrating this year. Nobody wants to be where we’re at."

Speculation and anonymous reports have swirled throughout this season about Vrabel's relationship with first-year general manager Ran Carthon and whether Vrabel's connection to the New England Patriots franchise would open the door for a job change. Vrabel said Wednesday he doesn't feel a need to address rumors with his players or in public and doubled-down on his commitment to winning with the Titans, as constructed and beyond.

"I’m excited to build this thing and to fix this thing and get it to where we want it to be to win championships with Ran and (assistant general managers Chad Brinker and Anthony Robinson) and a coaching staff and everybody," Vrabel said. "That’s what our goal is. But no, the social media and where that is, I can’t focus on that."
