Mike Vrabel hired as consultant for Browns, 1st job since Tennessee Titans firing | Report
The Cleveland Browns are reportedly hiring former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel as a consultant, according to ESPN and NFL Network.
In Cleveland, Vrabel is reunited with Browns defensive coordinator and former Titans assistant Jim Schwartz, who had served a similar role for Vrabel in Nashville.
The Titans fired Vrabel in January after six seasons in charge. In those six seasons, he led the Titans to three playoff berths, two division titles and an AFC Championship game appearance. He was named the NFL's Coach of the Year in 2021, a season in which he led the Titans to the AFC's No. 1 seed despite setting the league record for most players used in a single season.

Things went downhill in Vrabel's last two years with the Titans. The team lost its last seven games in 2022, finishing 7-10 and missing the playoffs. In 2023, the Titans posted a 6-11 record, finishing last in the AFC South and leading to Vrabel's eventual dismissal.
The Titans replaced Vrabel by hiring former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan.
Vrabel is an Ohio native.
