Mike Tyler commits to LSU football: 247 ranking, more to know of 3-star tight end
Brian Kelly and LSU football secured yet another commitment to their 2025 recruiting class on Saturday —- right out of enemy territory.
As originally reported by On3.com, Mike Tyler, a three-star tight end from Columbia, South Carolina, picked the Tigers over finalists West Virginia and Duke. He is the second tight end commitment for the Tigers in the 2025 class, joining fellow three-star John David LaFleur.

According to his 247Sports Composite recruiting profile, Tyler is a three-star tight end in the 2025 recruiting class. Moreover, he ranks as the No. 597 recruit in the nation, the No. 31 tight end and the No. 12 player from the state of South Carolina.
Per 247Sports, he has 23 offers hailing from mostly outside the Power Four, though that does include finalists Duke and West Virginia, as well as fellow SEC programs South Carolina and Ole Miss. Other notable schools to offer include Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland and NC State, among others.

With Tyler's commitment on Saturday, LSU holds the No. 3 overall recruiting class in the country, per 247Sports' Composite rankings. The Tigers also have the second-best class in the SEC, trailing only Alabama at No. 2 overall.
LSU now has three five-star commitments, 14 four-star commitments and six three-star commitments. The recruits who make up the Tigers' 2025 class have an average rating of 92.65.
