Ja Morant will start his second consecutive NBA All-Star game, and the Memphis Grizzlies star can thank Stephen Curry for it. Sort of.

Morant was named a replacement starter by the league Friday with Curry out because of a leg injury that will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break. Morant will be the first player in franchise history to start multiple All-Star games.

Per NBA rules, if a starter can't participate in the All-Star game, they'll be replaced by a reserve in the same conference and position group who had the highest weighted ranking among All-Star voting. Morant finished third among Western Conference guards in All-Star voting behind Curry and Dallas Mavericks' star Luka Doncic.

Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. will represent the Grizzlies on Feb. 19 in Salt Lake City. It'll also be the first time the franchise has had two All-Stars in the same season.
