LSU women's basketball vs. South Carolina: Score, live updates from top-10 SEC battle
The wait is over.
Another installment of LSU women's basketball vs. South Carolina, Dawn Staley vs. Kim Mulkey is here. No. 9 LSU (18-2, 5-1 SEC) hosts No. 1 South Carolina (17-0, 5-0 SEC) in a big-time, top-10 clash inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Thursday night (7 p.m., ESPN).
ESPN's College Gameday will be in the building to preview the highly-anticipated matchup between the Gamecocks and Tigers. Ticket prices for a seat for the game have skyrocketed leading up to the game, in some places as high as a couple thousand dollars.
While LSU bringing in a high-profile coach such as Mulkey back in 2021 has brought a sandstorm of attention and notoriety to this game the last three seasons, it really hasn't been much of a rivalry. South Carolina has won the last 14 meetings against LSU dating back to 2009.
But yet again, the LSU-South Carolina matchup features some of the biggest and brightest names in women's college basketball in Angel Reese, Flau'jae Johnson, Te-Hina Paopao, Kamilla Cardoso, Hailey Van Lith, Aneesah Morrow, Raven Johnson, Bree Hall even star freshmen Mikaylah Williams for LSU and MiLaysia Fulwiley for the Gamecocks.
