LSU women's basketball vs. Florida: Score. live updates

Defense has been a problem for LSU women's basketball for much of the 2023-24 season and it bit them against Mississippi State on Monday night.

The Bulldogs lit up the Tigers (18-4, 5-3 SEC) from the perimeter, knocking down six 3-pointers in the second half to build a lead and hold on late, 77-73. It was the second straight defeat for Kim Mulkey and LSU, something that's happened once since she took over the program before the 2021-22 season.

LSU looks to snap its losing streak against Florida inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center Sunday afternoon (1 p.m., SEC Network).

The Gators (11-8, 2-5) have had their struggles this season but have two of the SEC's top four scorers in their dynamic duo at guard, Aliyah Matharu and Leilani Correa, who both average right around 18 points per game.

LSU star Angel Reese leads the league in scoring at 19.6 points per game while fellow forward Aneesah Morrow averages 17.9 points per game.
