LSU baseball vs Wofford prediction, odds for NCAA tournament regionals

LSU baseball's smoking hot offense was bound to have a cool off day.

The No. 2 Tigers (41-22), who have scored at least nine runs in five of its last seven games, managed just two runs in a loss to No. 1 North Carolina at Boshamer Stadium that forced them into the losers bracket at the Chapel Hill Regional of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

To keep its season going, LSU is going to have to recapture that offensive explosiveness as one more loss will end its season. LSU matches up with No. 3 Wofford (42-19) in an elimination game Sunday (11 a.m. CT, ESPN+).

The Tigers defeated the Terriers in the first game of the NCAA regional bracket. Wofford bounced back and knocked out Long Island, 5-2, Saturday to advance in the losers bracket.

LSU 9, Wofford 5: Jay Johnson and company have done a nice job of saving the top bullpen arms for a long day at the ballpark. LSU's best relievers will stifle Wofford's hitters long enough for LSU to build a comfortable lead early then coast to victory.
