Who will LSU baseball play in SEC Baseball Tournament? Seed, time TV info

BATON ROUGE — This season's SEC Tournament will be different for LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson since he took over the program more than three years ago.

LSU (36-20) will play on the first day of the tournament at The Hoover Metropolitan Complex in Hoover, Alabama, in one of the single-elimination games, something the program hasn't done the last two seasons.

The Tigers, the No. 11 seed, will take on No. 6 Georgia at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The game can been seen on the SEC Network. LSU will be the away team.

Should the Tigers win and advance Tuesday, they would move on to face No.3 Kentucky in the second round Wednesday.

After a very rocky start to SEC play, LSU is playing its best baseball right now, winners of four of its last five conference series, including a sweep against Ole Miss this past weekend. LSU has won 10 of its last 15 SEC games as star hitter Tommy White has had 22 hits in his last 12 SEC games along with 19 RBIs and 15 runs. He's not only powered the Tigers into an SEC Tournament berth, but has propelled his team into the mix for an NCAA Tournament at-large bid.

Georgia comes into Tuesday's game against LSU off a series loss to Florida at home. Prior to the dropping the last two games of the regular season to the Gators, the Bulldogs had won eight straight games, which included sweeps over Vanderbilt and South Carolina as well as wins over No. 2 Texas A&M and Florida.

LSU and Georgia did not play during the 2024 regular season.
