According to some projections, LSU baseball's sweep over Ole Miss this past weekend was enough to propel the team into the NCAA Tournament.

But at least one win in the SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover, Alabama, this week should clinch the Tigers a spot in field of 64 when its revealed by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee on Selection Monday next Monday.

No. 11 LSU will attempt to get that victory over No. 6 Georgia in the first round of the SEC Tournament at the Hoover Metropolitan on Tuesday (9:30 a.m., SEC Network).

The Tigers (36-20) have won four of their first five SEC series after a rocky start to league play, in which it dropped five straight series. After his team's turnaround, LSU coach Jay Johnson said after the sweep of Ole Miss that his squad should be in the NCAA Tournament when looking at its whole body of work.

Georgia (39-14) comes into the matchup with LSU off a series loss to Florida, but had one eight straight SEC games prior to losing the final two games of the regular season at home to the Gators.
