Louisiana football WR Lance LeGendre has suspension lifted, to return to team once healthy
After a suspension that spanned the entirety of the 2023 college football season, Louisiana football wide receiver Lance LeGendre has returned to the team.
UL football officials confirmed to The Daily Advertiser LeGendre's indefinite suspension has been lifted and that he will be back fully with the Ragin' Cajuns after finishing rehabilitation on his shoulder that he had surgery on last month.
There's no definite timetable for LeGendre's return to the field, officials said.
"He is still a member of the team and has had his indefinite suspension lifted," team officials said. "After having shoulder surgery in December, he will be rehabbing for the next several months."
LeGendre, of Netflix's TV show "QB1" lore where he was featured during his senior season at Warren Easton High School in New Orleans, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and apologized to UL's fan base.
"Forgive me Cajun nation," he wrote. "Before my time is up I will give you guys 110%. That's my promise in 2024."
His suspension from the team stemmed from an arrest for charges of battery of a dating partner. LeGendre was booked July 26 following an altercation that happened at 12:01 a.m. at the 200 block of Theatre Street that the University of Louisiana police responded to after a dispute.
Charges against LeGendre were officially dropped back in October and remained suspended through the remainder of the 2023 season.

After switching positions from quarterback to wide receiver, LeGendre found some success toward the end of the 2022 season, finishing what was his sophomore year with 165 yards and one touchdown on 13 catches for the Cajuns.
Once he's back on the field, the 6-2, 224-pounder provides much-needed depth to a Louisiana receiving corps that was inexperienced and thin at times during this past season.
