A look at Oklahoma City's girls high school basketball Fab 10 rankings for Feb. 8
As the Oklahoma high school basketball regular season winds down, the best teams are continuing to differentiate themselves.
Each week, The Oklahoman’s Hallie Hart takes a look at the top girls basketball teams in the Oklahoma City area.
Here are the rankings for Feb. 8-14.

1. Putnam West (19-1)
Last week: 1
Up next: Friday vs. Edmond Santa Fe, Tuesday at Westmoore
What to know: Dominant defense is the cornerstone of the Patriots’ game. Putnam West, the top team in District 6A-2, has held its past three opponents to an average of 23.3 points.

2. Edmond North (18-1)
Last week: 2
Up next: Friday at Capitol Hill, Tuesday vs. Piedmont
What to know: The defending state champion Huskies are undefeated in district play with a seven-game win streak. Most recently, Edmond North rolled past Moore, 63-35.

3. Bethany (17-4)
Last week: 3
Up next: Friday vs. Ardmore, Tuesday vs. Oklahoma Christian School
What to know: With the postseason approaching, the top-ranked Class 4A Bronchos show no signs of slowing down. Keziah Lofton and Zya Vann are each averaging around 20 points per game with more than 100 total rebounds.
4. Edmond Memorial (16-3)
Last week: 4
Up next: Thursday vs. Sand Springs, Friday at Enid, Tuesday at Tulsa Union
What to know: With four straight wins, the Bulldogs keep gaining momentum as District 6A-3 leaders. This week, Edmond Memorial surged past Bartlesville, 63-25.

5. Choctaw (20-0)
Last week: 5
Up next: Friday vs. Ponca City, Tuesday vs. Jenks
What to know: No one has been able to upset the Yellowjackets, who reign atop District 6A-4. This week, Choctaw defeated Muskogee, 52-30, to keep a perfect record.
6. El Reno (21-0)
Last week: 6
Up next: Friday at Guthrie, Tuesday vs. Shawnee
What to know: El Reno continues to dominate as the sole undefeated Class 5A team. Senior forward Pauline Black-Harmon reached 1,000 career points this week.
7. Carl Albert (16-4)
Last week: 7
Up next: Thursday vs. Crossings Christian, Friday vs. Western Heights, Tuesday vs. Altus
What to know: The Titans avenged their loss to Shawnee with a 49-44 win in the rematch. Senior Ausha Moore had a near-double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.

8. Putnam North (16-5)
Last week: 8
Up next: Friday at Norman North, Tuesday vs. Moore
What to know: A loss to powerhouse Edmond North isn’t enough to kick the Panthers out of the Fab 10. The Huskies have won every district game, and Putnam North responded to the defeat with a 59-46 victory against Piedmont.
9. Mustang (15-6)
Last week: 9
Up next: Friday vs. Moore, Tuesday at Norman North
What to know: Like Putnam North, Mustang fell to Edmond North but bounced back. The Broncos cruised past Deer Creek, 60-31, with a game-high 14 points from junior forward Cherish Haywood.

10. Classen SAS (16-6)
Last week: 10
Up next: Thursday at Riverside
What to know: The Comets have compiled an eight-game win streak. Oklahoma City Public Schools gave its February Female Athlete of the Month award to Classen SAS freshman Kamiyah Morgan, who averaged eight points and three rebounds per game in the Jones Kiwanis Invitational.

Just on the outside
Dale: The top-ranked Class 2A Pirates boosted their resume with a 52-42 victory over No. 6 Vanoss.
Douglass: The Class 4A Trojans have won eight games in a row.
Jones: The Class 3A Longhorns are steadily improving, most recently claiming a 52-38 win against 4A North Rock Creek.
Midwest City: All three of the Class 5A Bombers’ losses are to 6A teams, and they’re undefeated in district play.
Millwood: The Class 3A Falcons have overcome a tough early schedule to bring their record to 11-11.
Yukon: The Millers are 15-6 overall and 8-4 in District 6A-2.
