Longhorns in the NFL: Where are former Texas standouts starting the 2024 season?
When the NFL season kicks off Thursday night, the Texas football program will be represented on both sidelines.
Kansas City is set to host Baltimore in the first game of the NFL season. Making his NFL debut during the NBC-televised contest will be former Texas receiver Xavier Worthy, who was selected by Kansas City in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. Meanwhile, ex-UT kicker Justin Tucker is entering his 13th season with Baltimore.
Baltimore and Kansas City are two of the 23 NFL teams who start the 2024 season with a UT product on their rosters. The New York Jets, who last drafted a Texas player in 1980, are among the Longhorn-less NFL teams.
While San Francisco does not have any Longhorns on its roster, the 49ers do have a significant tie to the Texas football program. San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan played football at Texas from 2001-02.
