Grab the spikes and head to the track, it's time for the FSU Relays.

The annual college/high school meet is set for another packed weekend of track and field action at Mike Long Track, with the preps portion of the meet getting started Friday night.

One of the premier events on the track calendar, the FSU Relays draws programs from all over the country to Florida's Capital for two days of competitions. The field events get things started Friday evening with the boy's and girl's javelin at 6 p.m. Races begin at 6:30 p.m. with the 800-meter, followed by the 200-meter and 3200-meter runs.

Saturday brings the bulk of the action, with action getting underway at 10:00 a.m. for the field events, followed by the start of the races at 11:10 a.m., and events will be run throughout the afternoon.

There will be 215 schools represented at the event this weekend, with all local schools in attendance. Over 2000 athletes from eight different states will be running, throwing and jumping at this weekend's event.

For the Florida schools in attendance, the meet serves as a preview for the state championships held at the University of North Florida in May.
