Scott Dixon wins IndyCar Detroit Grand Prix

That's why they call him the Iceman.

Scott Dixon avoids all the contact and penalties, and saves fuel on the way to his 58th career IndyCar Series win.

Marcus Ericsson of Andretti Global finishes 2nd. Marcus Armstrong, Dixon's Chip Ganassi Racing teammate, takes 3rd for his first IndyCar podium finish. He had started 19th.

The race has a largely clean start, but mayhem reigns between laps 32-70, taking series points leader Alex Palou (16th), pole-sitter Colton Herta (19th) and Indianapolis 500 champion Josef Newgarden (26th) out of contention.

Dixon, who owns 6 IndyCar points titles, takes the championship lead.
