Leagues Cup: How to watch Columbus Crew vs Sporting Kansas City in round of 32

On Friday, the Crew will play in the second-ever Leagues Cup tournament with a round of 32 game against Sporting Kansas City at Lower.com Field.

As the 2023 MLS Cup champions, Columbus was given a bye into the knockout rounds, skipping the group stage entirely, and will hold home-field advantage throughout their tournament run. But having the bye meant the Crew had to wait while nearly every other club played and kept Columbus from knowing who their opponent would be until Monday.

The Crew have had just under three weeks off since their last competitive match, losing to Atlanta United 2-1 on July 20.

"That's been a good break for us, but I know I'm itching to get back out there," forward Christian Ramirez said. "You see the excitement, you see how intense some of the games get, especially late, some of these games have been hectic. And that's the beauty of it."
