Will Latrell Wrightsell play vs UConn in Final Four? What the Alabama guard said

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Latrell Wrightsell Jr. appears set to return soon to play for Alabama basketball, based on what he said in the locker room Thursday.

When asked if he will be good to play Saturday versus UConn in the Final Four, here's what Wrightsell said:

"Yeah I'll be able to play," Wrightsell said.

The Alabama guard has missed the last two games of the NCAA Tournament after he sustained another head injury in the Round of 32 game against Grand Canyon. Wrightsell also missed four games during the regular season with a head injury.

He practiced for the first time Tuesday since the latest head injury.

"Glad he was out there," Alabama coach Nate Oats said in Tuscaloosa on Tuesday. "He's got day-to-day evaluations. Based on how tomorrow morning's evaluation goes, we'll see how he goes the rest of the week. Our hopes are that he will be able to play on Saturday."
