Alabama basketball injury update on Latrell Wrightsell, Nick Pringle before Final Four
Alabama basketball is hopeful Latrell Wrightsell Jr. will be available to play in the Final Four, coach Nate Oats said Tuesday. Meanwhile, Nick Pringle is expected to be able to play.
Wrightsell has missed the past two games with a head injury. Pringle hasn't missed time, but he has been dealing with a heel bruise that has forced him to wear a medical boot when he's not on the court.
"(Pringle's) tough," Oats said. "I thought he looked pretty good in practice today."
Wrightsell practiced for the first time Tuesday. Oats described him as limited, but Wrightsell was seen participating in some team drills during the final portion of the practice open to reporters.
"Glad he was out there," Oats said. "He's got day-to-day evaluations. Based on how tomorrow morning's evaluation goes, we'll see how he goes the rest of the week. Our hopes are that he will be able to play on Saturday."
No. 4 seed Alabama needs all the help it can get, trying to take down No. 1 seed UConn in the Final Four on Saturday (7:49 p.m. CT, TBS) at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
