Kawhi Leonard's welcome to LA as a Clipper continues with raucous Staples Center booing
It appears Los Angeles Lakers fans are still a little miffed that Kawhi Leonard chose the Los Angeles Clippers rather than their beloved team.
Our biggest clue of that up to this point was when Leonard was booed while simply taking in a Los Angeles Rams game earlier this month. The hypothesis was further proven during the Clippers’ and Lakers’ season opener at Staples Center when Leonard addressed the crowd.
His reception: a tidal wave of boos.

Funnily enough, this was actually during a Clippers home game, technically. Realistically, all Lakers-Clippers games at Staples Center are Lakers home games.
The boos continued as the game began, with Leonard getting a similar reception at the foul line.

Have fun with that, Kawhi. Even if the Clippers succeed with Leonard and Paul George beyond their wildest dreams, it’s hard to see the makeup of Los Angeles basketball fandom changing any time soon.
