Karl-Anthony Towns continues scoring surge, drops 41 points in win against Thunder
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns has been on a roll lately. Towns came up big again Tuesday, dropping 41 points in a 131-120 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Towns dominated in a variety of ways Tuesday, he was solid from the field — going 15 of 27, he hit three of his five threes and he delivered some vicious dunks. He also pulled down 14 rebounds.
Towns’ 41 points were the second most he’s scored all season. He went off for 42 points against the Indiana Pacers just two games ago.
The 23-year-old Towns has been hot lately. He’s averaged 36.4 points in the five games since he returned from concussion issues related to a car accident. Towns told reporters he was “blessed to be alive” after a semi truck rear-ended Towns and one of the Timberwolves’ assistant strength coaches.
Despite Towns’ contributions, the Timberwolves are 2-3 in those five contests. The team sits at 30-34 on the season, and remains in the same position as the Los Angeles Lakers when it comes to making the playoffs.
Given that, Towns can only hope to finish the season strong for the Timberwolves. He’s already shown immense promise over his career, appearing in two All-Star games.
It’s tough to imagine Towns could get a lot better, but if he was going to take that next step forward, it might look something like this.
