Justise Winslow fined $15,000 for stepping on Joel Embiid's mask in Game 3
Justise Winslow may have failed in trying to break Joel Embiid’s facemask in Game 3 on Thursday, but the NBA is still putting its foot down.
The league has fined Winslow $15,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct when he stepped on Embiid’s mask on Thursday night, the NBA announced.

The incident happened in the middle of the second quarter, when the protective lens popped loose on the mask after Embiid was hit by Kelly Olynyk while reaching for a loose ball. Play stopped, and while it was on the court, Winslow came from behind and tried to break it.
Embiid, while still getting used to the mask, planned ahead.
“As far as the mask, Justise stepped on it and tried to break with his hands,” Embiid said after the game. “But little did he know we have about 50 of them. It’s going to take much more than that to get me out of these series. I’m going to be a nightmare for them too.”
Embiid dropped 23 points in the 76ers 128-108 win on Thursday, his first game back after surgery to repair a broken orbital bone around his left eye. Philadelphia now leads the series 2-1.
