The 6-foot-4 quarterback entered the rematch of last season's national championship in the second quarter, as Moore benched Michigan start Alex Orji with the Wolverines then down 14-0 against the Huskies. Tuttle ran with his opportunity, leading the Wolverines to score 17 unanswered points.

He recorded his first touchdown of the season in the third quarter when he connected with tight end Colston Loveland for an 8-yard touchdown pass.

Here's everything you need to know about Tuttle, including how he is eligible to play in his seventh season of college football:

Who is Jack Tuttle?

Jack Tuttle is currently a seventh-year quarterback for the Michigan Wolverines.

He hails from San Marcos, California and was a former four-star recruit and the No. 8 ranked pro-style quarterback in the 2018 recruiting class, per his 247Sports Composite ranking profile. He originally committed and enrolled at Utah in 2018 but transferred to Indiana after not seeing any playing time that year.

Tuttle spent four seasons at Indiana from 2019 through 2022, where he appeared in a combined 15 games for the Hoosiers. He transferred to Michigan ahead of last season, where he served as one of the Wolverines' backups to now-Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J McCarthy. Tuttle appeared in five games last season for Michigan, completing 88.2% of his passes for 130 yards and a touchdown — the latter of which came against his former squad.

Tuttle missed a majority of spring and fall practices with the Wolverines heading into this season, which set him back on competing for the starting job for Week 1, as previously reported by The Detroit Free Press.

Jack Tuttle seventh year eligibility

As previously reported by The Detroit Free Press, Tuttle was approved by the NCAA for a medical redshirt seventh year of eligibility in February. Tuttle's medical redshirt year is for the 2022 season, when he went down with a season-ending injury against Penn State on Nov. 15.
