Ja Morant played only 9 games this season. That didn't stop fans from buying his Grizzlies jersey
Ja Morant didn't play during the second half of the 2023-24 NBA season. But that didn't stop fans from buying his Memphis Grizzlies jersey.
Morant was 11th in the NBA in jersey sales during the second half of the season, according to data released Friday by the NBA. He was also 11th during the first half of the season.

Steph Curry led the league in jersey sales for the second consecutive season. Morant was eighth in jersey sales during the 2022-23 season.
Morant stayed in the conversation even though he played only nine games during the season. He was suspended for the first 25 games for conduct detrimental to the league, then returned in December and helped the Grizzlies to a 6-3 record while he was available.
But he suffered a shoulder injury in practice that required surgery and proved to be season-ending. He's expected to make a full recovery before training camp.
The jersey sales aren't the only indication that fans were still talking and thinking about Morant this season. He finished ninth in NBA All-Star fan voting even with only nine games played.
The Grizzlies' season was derailed by injuries. Morant barely played, while Desmond Bane and Marcus Smart also missed significant time. Steven Adams was ruled out for the season and then dealt to Houston ahead of the trade deadline, while Brandon Clarke returned only near the end of the season after recovering from an Achilles injury suffered last season.
Memphis had 13 players out injured for its final two games.
