High school football playoffs: Scores, updates and results from around Fort Walton Beach
Choosing which game to cover Friday night is never an easy decision. That goes doubly when two area teams are hosting playoff games.
In a perfect world I could be at both Joe Etheredge Stadium and Eagle Stadium tonight for the region quarterfinal round — No. 2 Choctawhatchee hosting No. 7 Arnold in Region 1-4A and No. 1 Niceville hosting No. 8 Middleburg in Region 1-5A. If both advance next week to host, I may seriously toy with the idea of doing the first half at one and the second half the other. But for tonight I'll choose Eagle Stadium.
Why? Because we've seen Choctaw and Arnold before. Props to the Marlins on the 7-3 regular-season run, but Choctaw is back-to-back region finalists for a reason. I expect this game to be over before it even starts.

That's not to say Niceville-Middelburg will be more competitive (it likely won't), but in the big picture tonight appears to be a bigger night for Region 1-5A as Niceville will be scoreboard watching two potentially up-in-the-air games between Mosley-Fleming Island and Lincoln-Mainland.
That's where our scoreboard comes into play. To follow all the Region 1 games in 2A, 4A and 5A, bookmark our live scoreboard below. And for video, stats, score updates and color commentary on Niceville, follow me on X at @SethSnwfdn.
