Memphis Grizzlies sign 2024 draft pick Cam Spencer to 2-way deal. What that means for roster

The Memphis Grizzlies have finalized a contract with the third and final member of their 2024 draft class. Shooting guard and second-round pick Cam Spencer will be signing a two-way deal, the team announced Monday evening.

Spencer joins first-round pick Zach Edey and fellow second-rounder Jaylen Wells as having signed. Edey and Wells will be on standard deals, while Spencer will begin the season on a two-way contract.

Memphis now has three players signed to two-way deals — the maximum amount allowed by the NBA — the other two being point guard Scotty Pippen Jr. and center Trey Jemison.

Players on two-way contracts are likely to spend most of their time between the G League and NBA. They can be active for up to 50 NBA games and are not eligible for the postseason roster.

Memphis has 14 of its 15 standard roster spots filled. There is still a chance free agent guard Luke Kennard returns to fill that spot.
