Grizzlies' GG Jackson joins Victor Wembanyama, eight others on NBA's all-rookie teams

The Memphis Grizzlies have finally made a list during NBA award season.

Forward GG Jackson, who will not turn 20 until December, was named to the NBA's second-team All-Rookie team. Jackson is the first Memphis player to make the all-rookie team since Desmond Bane in 2020.

Jackson, who was selected with the 45th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, was the only second-round pick to make an all-rookie team this season. The list was highlighted by Rookie of the Year and San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama.

Wembanyama was a unanimous selection on the first team. Jackson secured five first-place votes and 33 votes for the second team. He finished 10th in total voting points, which was good for the final spot.

Jackson's season took a complete turn after the Grizzlies were smacked with injuries. The 6-foot-9 forward out of South Carolina went from spending most of his time through December in the G League to starting 18 games and playing in 48 total for the Grizzlies.

Jackson finished fourth among rookies with 14.6 points per game. He broke Kobe Bryant's record as the youngest player in NBA history to score more than 25 points off the bench.
