Great Crossing, Lyon County stay 1-2 in Kentucky High School Boys Basketball Media Poll

With snow canceling several games across the state last week, there was little change in this week’s Kentucky High School Boys Basketball Media Poll.

Great Crossing (19-1) kept the No. 1 spot by receiving 10 of the 16 first-place votes. No. 2 Lyon County (18-1) received the other six first-place votes and was followed by No. 3 Lexington Catholic (18-1) and Covington Catholic (15-4) and Trinity (15-4) in a tie for the No. 4 spot.

Great Crossing and Lexington Catholic are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Gary Moore Classic at Franklin County.

The Kentucky High School Basketball Media Poll is conducted by 16 sports journalists — one from each of the state’s 16 basketball regions. The poll will be released each week throughout the regular season.

Along with the statewide top 15, voters will provide top-five rankings for their respective regions.
