Georgia's lone quarterback commit in the class of 2025 saw his high school career come to an unfortunate conclusion on Friday night. Four-star Ryan Montgomery, who chose the Bulldogs in April over South Carolina and Florida, suffered a torn ACL in his opening game for Findlay High School after taking a hard hit just four minutes into the game.

Montgomery announced the unfortunate news of the injury via X on Monday. Montgomery is listed at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds, and is rated as a four-star quarterback and the No. 9 signal caller in the nation in the class of 2025 according to 247Sports. The talented quarterback will miss some valuable reps and experience during the 2024 season, but he hopes to return stronger than ever in 2025.

Montgomery passed for 3,877 yards, 38 touchdowns, and five interceptions while also running for 257 yards and 10 touchdowns a season ago. He led Findlay to an 8-3 record and an appearance in the playoffs.

Montgomery is expected to enroll early at UGA and compete with Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi to replace Carson Beck next season.
