Georgia DB Joenel Aguero ejected vs. Texas, suspended
Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Dan Jackson wasn't the only Georgia defensive back that was ejected for targeting last night. Joenel Aguero was ejected from the game late in the fourth quarter against Texas for a hit on Quintrevion Wisner. As a result of Aguero's targeting, he is suspended for the first half of the Florida game on Nov. 2 after Georgia has its bye week.
Aguero played the star position in the secondary for Georgia against Texas. He was replaced by JaCorey Thomas and KJ Bolden replaced Dan Jackson in his position as safety. Thomas will likely be the star for Georgia in the first half of the Florida game.
Before the ejection, Aguero recorded five tackles, his first QB hit of the season, and one-half tackles for loss in this game. Overall this season, the sophomore has 19 tackles, 1 1/2 tackles for loss and a QB hit.
Aguero's loss will leave Georgia super thin in the secondary, but Georgia will have a bye to celebrate the 30-15 win and prepare for the next game against Florida.
Aguero probably played his best game of the season against Texas.
