Georgia basketball guard Silas Demary makes decision on next season
Five Georgia basketball players have hit the transfer portal since the end of the season, but an important piece is sticking around.
Freshman point guard Silas Demary Jr. took to social media on Friday to announce he’s returning for next season.
“I’ve spent the last few days with my family, resting and decompressing as promised,” Demary Jr., wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “In response to questions about my future, please know…I’m Back!”
The 6-foot-5, 190-pound Raleigh native was an SEC All-Freshman selection.
He started every game except for Senior Night for the Bulldogs.

Demary was third on the team in scoring at 9.7 points and had 3.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. He also led Georgia with 52 steals.
Demary is Georgia’s top returning scorer after Noah Thomasson finished his eligibility and Jabri Abdur-Rahim entered the transfer portal.
Four others have also put their name in the portal: guard Justin Hill, forwards Jalen DeLoach and Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe and guard Mari Jordan.
Georgia finished 20-17 in coach Mike White's second season, reaching the NIT semifinals.
