Georgetown guard Reese Hoadley voted Austin-area Girls Athlete of the Week

Georgetown basketball player Reese Hoadley, who scored 94 total points and was named all-tournament as the Eagles won the Flowing Wells Winter tournament in Tucson, Ariz., was voted the Covert Chevrolet Bastrop Austin-area Girls Athlete of the Week for Dec. 25-30.

Hoadley received more than 47% of the vote. She also was voted the area's girls athlete of the week for Dec. 11-16. Lake Travis guard Claire Kolkhorst won the poll for Dec. 18-23.

Liberty Hill's Gabby Munday, San Marcos' Azariah Fennell, Glenn's Somo Okolo and KIPP's Kendall Martin also were candidates.

The American-Statesman will have a weekly vote for Girls Athlete of the Week and Boys Athlete of the Week throughout the academic year.
