Game balls: 7 standouts from Steelers' Week 11 victory over Ravens
The Pittsburgh Steelers did what many thought wasn't possible: Limit a top-scoring Baltimore Ravens team to 16 points by containing Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. All the while, the Steelers had their own offensive struggles, failing to find the end zone on two attempts.
Pittsburgh's defense and special teams, once again, highlighted its win.
Here are seven standouts from the Week 11 victory against the Ravens:
1. LB Payton Wilson
With both offenses struggling, this game came down to defensive plays, and the Steelers' linebackers did just that. Rookie Payton Wilson made a critical interception midway through the fourth quarter as the Ravens were driving for the potential winning score.
2. LB Nick Herbig
Nick Herbig made a significant impact in his first game back after being sidelined for four weeks with a hamstring injury, stripping Ravens' Derrick Henry of the ball on the game's first drive. It was Henry's first fumble in 538 touches. He also got in Lamar Jackson's face on more than a few occasions. On a team-high five pressures, Herbig blew up the game-tying two-point try in the fourth quarter.
3. LB T.J. Watt
T.J. Watt sacked Lamar Jackson early in the fourth quarter, resulting in a Ravens' three-and-out. It was his first sack since Week 8, and he added three tackles.
4. LB Patrick Queen
Patrick Queen made a huge strip and recovery deep in Ravens' territory late in the first half, allowing the Steelers to kick a field goal and take a 9-7 lead into halftime. He also logged a team-high 10 tackles.
5. CB Joey Porter Jr.
Herbig flushed him out, but the pressure from Joey Porter Jr. sealed the deal on the failed two-point conversion that would've sent the game into overtime. He added two defended passes.
6. S Minkah Fitzpatrick
Because Teryl Austin changed how the Steelers utilize him, Fitzpatrick isn't the ball-hawking safety he once was. But he remains a disruptor by way of tackles, and he racked up seven on Sunday.
7. K Chris Boswell
Save the best for last, and Chris Boswell was definitely the best. The Steelers' offensive inefficiencies (0-2 in red zone) were masked by Boswell's leg for the second time this season.
