Just a couple of weeks ago, Gabby Williams almost took down the biggest dynasty in basketball.

Team USA's women's basketball team has won nothing but gold for decades. The team hasn't lost since 1992 and has won eight straight gold medals. They were a heavy favorite to win again in the 2024 Olympics and, eventually, they did.

But, man. Williams almost ended all of that.

Had she been just a few inches back behind the three-point line on this last miracle shot during the gold medal game, we may be having a different conversation today. The game would've went into overtime and who knows what would've happened then.

Williams was arguably the best player on the floor during that game which begged the question, when would she finally make her return to the WNBA? She'd been out of the league s after a short stint with the Storm in 2023 because of the W's prioritization rule.

Today? She's back.

The Storm announced Williams signed a new deal with the team for the rest of the season via Twitter. She confirmed the news, too.

Fans were so delighted to see her back. Well, some of them were. Others? Whew, boy. They're just afraid of what will happen when their team sees Seattle.
