FSU softball earns No. 15 national seed; will host regional vs. Chattanooga
Florida State (43-14) is the No. 15 national seed in the NCAA softball Tournament and will host its 10th consecutive Regional.
FSU was not among the top eight, meaning the Seminoles will be on the road for Super Regionals. The Seminoles will play Chattanooga (42-14) at Joanne Graf Field on Friday, May 17, at 4:30 p.m. on the ACC Network.
Auburn (27-19) and UCF (30-23) are also in the region as it is set for 2 p.m. The winner of the double-elimination regional advances to the best-of-three Super Regional round.
FSU is paired with No. 2 seed Oklahoma (49-6). If both teams are victorious in their regions, it could lead to a potential Women's College World Series rematch from last year.
However, the Seminoles will have to travel to Norman. The Seminoles lost to the Sooners in the WCWS, giving OU its third consecutive title.
FSU softball is coming off a loss to the Duke Blue Devils in the ACC Championship on Saturday.
