FSU football without Joshua Farmer, Robert Scott, Jamari Howard this spring | The NoleBook
Florida State football will be without two linemen and a defensive back for the remainder of spring practice.
FSU head coach Mike Norvell announced Tuesday redshirt junior defensive tackle Joshua Farmer, redshirt senior offensive tackle Robert Scott and freshman defensive back Jamari Howard will all be unavailable due to injury.
While Farmer and Scott are expected to return by summer workouts, Norvell said that Howard will miss the beginning of the fall season.
"He [Howard] was really having a good first couple of days, but unfortunately he went down," Norvell said. "We'll have to see the progress in his rehabilitation coming back."
Howard is an early enrollee, committing to FSU as a four-star prospect out of Miami Norland High School.
As the No. 7 cornerback prospect in the Class of 2024, he recorded 50 tackles, 10 for loss and one sack his senior season and helped Miami Norland to the Class 2M state championship game.
Farmer, a former Gadsden County High star, had 32 tackles, five sacks and two pass deflections last season as one of FSU's top defensive linemen.
Scott continues to deal with injury issues as his 2023 season was limited due to a constant left leg injury. He also missed all of the last spring season due to an injury. Scott appeared in seven games and earned one start last fall.
Norvell said he doesn't have too much concern about their [Farmer and Scott's] return to play as both have a lot of experience and is excited to see what they'll do this coming season.
"Both those guys have the repetition and they both know what to do," Norvell said.
"The way they've been working in rehab wise, they're not just sitting back. Everything's pushing to get better, even just the finer details in the mental aspect of it."
