Four-star safety Jordan Young commits to Clemson football, Dabo Swinney over Michigan
CLEMSON — Clemson football added a second defensive back to its 2025 class with the commitment of four-star safety Jordan Young on Saturday.
The 6-foot, 184-pounder from Monroe High School in Monroe, North Carolina, is rated as the No. 6 player in the state and No. 150 player nationally by the 247Sports Composite.
Young announced his Clemson commitment at his high school's gymnasium, selecting the Tigers over N.C. State, Florida State and Michigan. His commitment comes after four-star defensive back Graceson Littleton decommitted from the Tigers on Friday.
Young is the 14th player to commit to coach Dabo Swinney's 2025 class, which is ranked No. 22 nationally. The Tiger class has nine four-star recruits and five three-stars.
It's been an up-and-down journey for Clemson on the recruiting trail. During the past three months, it landed two three-star players — defensive lineman Makhi Williams-Lee and offensive lineman Gavin Blanchard — but has lost four four-stars, including Littleton, quarterback Blake Hebert, defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell and edge rusher Bryce Davis.
Young is the first recruit from North Carolina in the 2025 class to commit to the Tigers. He joins four-star Tae Harris as the defensive backs who have committed to the Tigers.
