Four-star DL Myron Charles flips to Texas football from Florida State

A great Saturday quickly got even better for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program.

Shortly after the Longhorns thumped Michigan 31-12 at the Big House, Texas landed a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Myron Charles. Charles had previously been committed to Florida State.

The 247Sports composite ranks Charles as the No. 134 overall prospect in the country in the 2025 cycle. He's also ranked as the No. 17 defensive lineman in his class and the No. 22 prospect in the state of Florida.

Listed at 6-foot-4, 295 pounds, Charles certainly fits Sarkisian's stated philosophy of recruiting players with either elite size or elite speed.

A native of Port Charlotte, Fla., Charles elevates Texas' class to No. 6 in the country. He also becomes the second Florida-based prospect in the class, joining five-star wideout Jaime Ffrench.

Having originally committed to Florida State in June, Charles also reported offers from the likes of Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M and Oregon.
