Former Xavier guard Quincy Olivari scores 20 points for LA Lakers in NBA Summer League

With the majority of NBA Summer League headlines surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers have been dominated by Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, Xavier basketball fans have a rooting interest in former Musketeers guard Quincy Olivari.

On Friday night, Olivari, who signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Lakers after going undrafted last month, showcased his shooting ability in a breakout performance in LA's 107-81 Summer League victory over Chicago, finishing with 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting with six 3-pointers. Olivari added three rebounds and a steal over 23 minutes off the bench.

Olivari was held scoreless in the Lakers' 93-89 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday. One day earlier, he had six points on 2-of-7 shooting in 17 minutes off the bench in an 87-86 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Olivari didn't play in the Lakers' first two Summer League games.

Olivari's contract is similar to a one-year, fully non-guaranteed training camp contract, where he has the opportunity to make the Lakers' regular-season roster. Olivari's Exhibit-10 contract could be converted into a two-way contract, where players can bounce between the G-League and the NBA.
