Colby Jones of Xavier scores 25 for Sacramento Kings in NBA Summer League game in Vegas
Colby Jones scored a game-high 25 points on 10-of-21 from the field with six rebounds, three steals and a block in 29 minutes in the Sacramento Kings' 82-70 win against the Utah Jazz on Monday in the NBA's Vegas Summer League.
The former Xavier Musketeers standout, who turned 22 in May, had 15 points at halftime.
In the Kings' Summer League opener last Friday, Jones was held without a field goal in four attempts, scoring two points in 14 minutes of action against Memphis.
Jones, the 34th overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft last July, became the first player signed under the NBA's second-round pick exception.
Jones played in 30 games last season for the NBA's Kings, averaging 2.1 points and 1.3 rebounds in 6.4 minutes per game. In 13 games for the G League's Stockton Kings, Jones averaged 19.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals in 36.1 minutes per game.
He declared for the 2023 draft after playing three seasons at XU.
