Former Falcons fullback Ovie Mughelli will be inducted into the Wake Forest Sports Hall of Fame. Mughelli spent four seasons with the Demon Deacons from 1999 to 2002, ending his career with first-team All-ACC honors in 2002.

The Baltimore Ravens selected Mughelli in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL draft. He played four seasons in Baltimore before coming to Atlanta in 2007. Mughelli spent the next five seasons (2007-2011) with the Falcons and had some of the best years of his career. In 2010, Mughelli was selected to the Pro Bowl.

The former Falcons fullback released a video on his social media, saying he was honored to be named alongside other Wake Forest greats, including Arnold Palmer and Tim Duncan.

"I've been waiting for this for 20 years and to now be put in the same level as guys I respect like the Arnold Palmers, Tim Duncans,  the Chris Pauls" said Mughelli on the induction. "To be on that level, it's mind-blowing, I still haven't really comprehended it."

Mughelli will be inducted with six other former student athletes: Skip Prosper (men's basketball), Katie Stengel (women's soccer), Keeva Jackson-Breland (women's basketball), Ike Opera (mens soccer), Aubrey Bledsoe (women's soccer), Bill Coore (golf), and Ovie Mughelli (football).

"It is one of my great honors as the Chair of the Wake Forest Sports Hall of Fame Committee to unveil the latest Wake Forest Sports Hall of Fame induction class and I join all Demon Deacons in congratulating them on this well-earned achievement," said Dr. Peter Brubaker, Wake Forest Faculty Athletics Representative.

"These seven individuals left their mark in the record books and classroom at Wake Forest while being outstanding representatives of the University. I personally want to thank the Hall of Fame selection committee for their hard work during this process and we look forward to celebrating this induction class."
