Due to this, the Philadelphia Flyers have officially announced their opening night roster for their matchup against the Vancouver Canucks on Oct. 11.

Jett Luchanko is a notable name on the list. The 2024 first-round pick has made the NHL roster at the age of 18, which is not too common. Naturally, he will be a big-time player to watch at the beginning of the season. If he performs well, he could stick around for the season.

Matvei Michkov is another big name on the Flyers' opening night roster. This is not surprising in the slightest, as he played magnificently during the pre-season. However, the Flyers will now get to see their top prospect get into regular-season action, which is quite exciting.

This will also be Ivan Fedotov's first full season in the NHL. The 27-year-old made three appearances for the Flyers last season, posting a 0-1-1 record, a .811 save percentage (SV%), and a 4.95 goals-against average (GAA). While he did not have the hottest of starts last year, he has the potential to bounce back in 2024-25. This is especially so when looking at his KHL success.
