Florida High's Micahi Danzy named Florida Dairy Farmers Mr. Track, first in program history
Micahi Danzy has made Florida High track and field program history.
The former Florida High sprinter and current Florida State football and track athlete was named the 2024 Florida Dairy Farmer Mr. Track, the first athlete to do so at the school.
The honor is given to the best track and field athlete in the state and is voted on by media members and coaches.
Danzy earned the honor for his two state championships this season, taking gold in the 200-meter and 400-meter for the second year in a row, while also placing second in the 100-meter dash and third in the long jump. His efforts helped lead Florida High to a second-place boys team finish at the 2A State Championships.
A decorated prep athlete, Danzy was named All-Big Bend Sprinter of the Year two seasons in a row and has been an All-Big Bend football first-team selection alongside All-Big Bend track honors.
He is currently enrolled at Florida State and has been practicing with the football team ahead of the kickoff of the 2024 season.
Danzy wasn't the only Florida High representative in the Florida Dairy Farmers awards, however, as Seminoles head coach Mike Acree was named the 2A Track and Field Coach of the Year. Alongside Danzy, Acree coached Isiaih Farmer to a state championship in the boy's discus, giving the program multiple state champions.
The second-place finish at the 2A State championships was the highest out of any local program. Acree was also named the 2024 All-Big Bend Boy's Track Coach of the Year for his efforts.
