FAMU football game today vs South Carolina State: Time, TV channel, schedule
The Florida A&M football team returns home tonight to play South Carolina State.
It's another MEAC vs. SWAC game for No. 25 FAMU, which opened its 2024 season with a 24-23 win against Norfolk State last week. James Colzie III picked up his first win after replacing Willie Simmons as FAMU coach, though the Rattlers needed a stop on a 2-point conversion to secure a 12-game winning streak. Quarterback Daniel Richardson had a good FAMU debut, going 22 of 30 for 286 yards and three touchdowns.
South Carolina State went 5-6 last season. Chennis Berry takes over as head coach this season for longtime coach Buddy Pough after winning back-to-back Division II Black national championships at Benedict College. The Bulldogs have seven players on the preseason All-MEAC first team, including wide receiver Justin Smith-Brown and three members of the offensive line.
