Falcons Twitter celebrates trade for Patriots EDGE Matthew Judon

The Atlanta Falcons have finally acquired a legitimate pass rusher, sending a 2025 third-round pick to the New England Patriots for outside linebacker Matthew Judon, according to multiple reports. The Falcons placed third-round pick Bralen Trice on the injured reserve list on Sunday and the team was already lacking a true threat off the edge.

The Falcons now have one of the most productive pass rushers in the league. Judon, 31, has 66.5 career sacks, including a 15.5-sack campaign in 2022. Fans have been desperate for a playmaker on defense following an offseason that focused primarily on the offense and quarterback position. Atlanta will reportedly pay Judon's $6.5 million base pay and work towards a long-term extension.
