Falcons release wide receiver, running back ahead of cut deadline
The NFL's 53-man roster deadline is just a few hours away and hundreds of players around the league have already been released by their respective teams. The Atlanta Falcons released 13 players on Sunday evening before cutting two more on Tuesday morning.
As reported by FOX Sports' Greg Auman, the Falcons have released wide receiver O.J. Hiliare and running back Spencer Brown. Hilliare, an undrafted free agent out of Bowling Green, had a strong training camp and finished the preseason with two catches for 32 yards.
Brown, the former Panthers running back, was signed to the roster a few weeks ago. The 25-year-old rushed for 77 yards on 15 carries for Atlanta in the preseason.
Falcons continue their process to get to 53 players by 4 p.m. -- former Panthers RB Spencer Brown and former Bowling Green WR O.J. Hiliare are among today's cuts.
