The Cincinnati Bengals have only just put on the pads at training camp, yet we're still able to run down the roster and identify players on the roster bubble.

That task is made all the easier when first looking at our 53-man roster projection after the first week.

There, some notable names and fringe, 50-50 types just miss the cut -- such as Hakeem Butler at wideout, Tanner McLachlan at tight end and a handful of defensive backs.

Here is a quick rundown of the players who didn't make the cut on the projected 53-man roster, which helps identify what the bubble currently looks like in Cincinnati.

Offense

Notes: Wideout is one of those spots where they might just keep seven. It's also one of those spots where they're going to need to slip a guy onto the practice squad and hope another team doesn't notice. That might be Butler, but a few names there are important to retrain somehow.

Defense

Notes: Tufele, with a strong summer, can still steal a spot. Njongmeta is still an undrafted guy to keep an eye on. And Anthony, the rookie, already securing a pick is a good start -- he keeps playing like that, defensive back gets even more complicated.

Bubble spotlight: WR Hakeem Butler

Butler arrived with a ton of hype after being the UFL offensive player of the year last season. He's already made big plays, too, so perhaps that's enough to convince the team to keep seven wideouts.

Bubble spotlight: CB DJ Ivey

Ivey is still on the way back from the season-ending injury late last year. The question is whether he gets activated soon and pushes enough to make it, or if he starts on something like the PUP.

Bubble spotlight: S Daijahn Anthony

The rookie was the first to grab an interception at camp this year. He's got some advertised versatility and playmaking ability, so maybe there's enough there to help him ride this momentum and push a Tycen Anderson-type.
