Eagles vs. Giants predictions: Rest starters or build playoff momentum in season finale?
PHILADELPHIA − The Eagles would certainly love to build momentum heading into the playoffs after their 35-31 loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week.
But they also want to keep their key players healthy because they're guaranteed one more game the following weekend.
All of which creates an interesting dilemma for head coach Nick Sirianni, something that he said he has weighed all week. That's because the Eagles can still win the NFC East, and thus get the No. 2 seed with potentially two home playoff games.

A SUPER TURNAROUND? As Eagles implode, how team, NFL history shows there's still hope for a Super turnaround
The more likely scenario is the No. 5 seed, which is the top wildcard spot, and most likely having to win all three playoff games on the road in order to reach the Super Bowl.
To win the division, the Eagles, on a 1-4 skid, must beat the Giants, and the Dallas Cowboys must lose to the 4-12 Washington Commanders. It should be noted that the Cowboys-Commanders game starts at the same time as Eagles-Giants, so the Eagles can't start the game knowing what they have to do.
"We're going to do whatever we need to do to win this game," Sirianni said. "But still, that's a consideration (resting players), because we think through all those different things."
So do we. And here's how we see it:
Note: For the final two games of the regular season, we're picking against the spread. The Eagles are favored by 5.5 points over the Giants, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Whether the Eagles rest starters or not, it's easy to lose sight of the fact that the Giants aren't good either, and they're playing out the string on a miserable season. The Eagles led the Giants 20-3 at halftime less than two weeks ago before the offense coughed up the ball twice. How's that different from the Cardinals game? Call it a hunch.
vs. spread: Eagles
The pick: Eagles 27, Giants 16

Eagles' head coach Nick Sirianni says he might sit key players in preparation for a run in the postseason. This after the Birds took the last five games off (1-4).
vs. spread: Giants
The pick: Giants 20, Eagles 17
Tom McGurk
While the smart move would be to rest their players this week, the Eagles also need a major shot of mojo before heading into the playoffs. Will they get it? Even the Magic 8 Ball is fuzzy on predicting the Eagles these days.
vs. spread: Eagles
The pick: Eagles 29, Giants 20
Tom Moore
There are no sure things with the Eagles these days. They won't cover the 5.5-point spread and could easily lose the regular-season finale.
vs. spread: Giants
The pick: Eagles 27, Giants 24
Brad Myers
A disappointing, frustrating victory is better than a disappointing, frustrating loss. That may be all the Eagles can muster at this point.
vs. spread: Giants
The pick: Eagles 24, Giants 22
Tom Haines
Would be nice to rest some starters, especially given the unforgiving MetLife turf, but this team needs to restore some kind of cohesion heading into a likely first-round visit to the NFC South champs.
vs. spread: Eagles
The pick: Eagles 33, Giants 21

Looking at the overall records below, you will learn one thing – take everyone else's advice rather than mine. That said, the Eagles are struggling and really haven't looked like last year's powerhouse at all this season – even during the 10-1 start. It really doesn't matter if they rest their starters. This team is lost, and a trip to East Rutherford isn't going to help.
vs. spread: Giants
The pick: Giants 24, Eagles 20
Bert Bainbridge
There's no denying the Eagles have been in a complete tailspin since their 10-1 start. While it's unknown if their starters will play yet, I think Philly does just enough to beat a scrappy Giants team that nearly upset them two weeks ago in what could be a game that features inclement weather throughout the entirety of this regular season finale in the Meadowlands.
vs. spread: Giants
The pick: Eagles 24, Giants 21
Michelle Ganassi
The Eagles will not let the Giants get the best of them twice. But with starters taking a break it will not be the game the oddsmakers' are predicting.
vs. spread: Giants
The pick: Eagles 21, Giants 17
Kevin Tresolini
If the Eagles lose this game, they ought to donate their playoff berth to a more deserving franchise.
vs. spread: Eagles
The pick: Eagles 31, Giants 20
Melissa Hanejko
This shouldn't be as difficult as it is. But resting players, inclement weather, and a Tyrod Taylor-led Giants' team that nearly pulled off a comeback last time around?
vs. spread: Eagles
The pick: Eagles 23, Giants 17
Overall records
13-3: Hanejko
12-4: Bainbridge, Haines
11-5: Moore, Tresolini, McGurk, Frank, Myers
10-4: Ganassi
10-6: Jordan
8-8: Giesen
