In what has been a busy news week for the Brooklyn Nets, they have found a way to add players for the upcoming training camp while making sure to acknowledge one of the greatest players in franchise history. After the Nets announced that they would be retiring Vince Carter's number 15 jersey in a matchup against the Miami Heat, one of Miami's All-Time players gave Carter his props.

In a post on X, Brooklyn announced that they would be retiring Carter's jersey on Jan. 25 in a home matchup at Barclays Center against the Heat. In response to the post, Heat legend Dwyane Wade congratulated Carter in the best way possible between two players that competed fiercely against each other in their primes.

"15 in the rafters. Congrats my guy," Wade wrote on X, following his statement with a salute emoji, showing his respect for a fellow Hall-of-Famer. Nets fans and NBA pundits alike had been wondering if Carter's jersey was ever going to be retired by the franchise, especially when you consider that the last time that the Nets hung a jersey in the rafters was Jason Kidd's number 5 in October of 2013.

To make matters more interesting prior to the Nets' announcement, Kidd played with Carter while the franchise was located in New Jersey so the time that has passed since playing with the franchise wasn't that much of a factor. Either way, Brooklyn's retiring of Carter's jersey continues a wonderful year for Vinsanity as he will also be formally inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in October.
