Ducks’ Fabbri Undergoes Meniscus Surgery, Out Six Weeks
The Ducks have been dealt a blow to their forward depth. According to Helene St. James from the Detroit Free Press, Robby Fabbri has undergone meniscus surgery and will miss the next six weeks.
No reunion tonight for the Red Wings with Ducks’ Robby Fabbri. Had surgery this morning on his meniscus and is out an estimated six weeks.

After playing in Sunday’s game against the Blue Jackets, Fabbri missed Tuesday’s practice and was subsequently placed on injured reserve later in the day.
Fabbri, acquired from the Detroit Red Wings this past summer, had two points (both goals) in 14 games this season. He’s moved up and down the lineup and was on a line with Brock McGinn and Isac Lundeström before getting injured.
Fabbri’s tenacious nature and puck—hounding ability has never wavered, even despite numerous torn ACLs in the past. It’s an unfortunate sight to see the forward be set back by another injury.
Given the timeline of his recovery, a call-up from the AHL may be necessitated. With Mason McTavish (upper-body) also out of the lineup right now, Anaheim does not have any healthy extras.

Jansen Harkins was recalled from San Diego on Wednesday and someone like Nikita Nesterenko (eight points in 13 games) or Sam Colangelo (eight goals in 13 games) could now be on their way up as well.
Anaheim has a two-game road trip next week in Dallas and Chicago before returning home to face the Buffalo Sabres next Friday. Even if McTavish is able to play, there may be at least one more call-up as insurance.
